1.4 esteem hunting on tick over

hi i brought a almera 1.4 last christmas and it has bin perfect i have ragged it and ragged it and nothing has gone wrong untill now

i went on holiday for 3 days and my clutch was slipping 2 days b4 so i took my dads car instead and while i was away he put a clutch on it and ever since the car drives ok and is ok when driving but when i dip the clutch to slow down it almost cuts out and ticks over really low at 250 rpm to 500 rpm does anyone no what he has done i have checked all the conections and they are ok

doesnt sound clutch related that matey. have you checked for vaccum leaks on any hoses?

no but will do the only pipe that has been taken off is the gear box breather and that is back on but will check again just incase thanks
