be gentle:eek: it was my first time down the strip and all the mods i've done is a kn filter and it came with a back box(which is just noise):O

i've got a de-cat system and a quick shift i need to fit so im hoping that it should drop it down to mid / low 17's

I managed to get a 17.3 with a 2" catback and stripped rear, nothing else.

Down to 16.7 with a manifold, decat, filter behind the bumper so no hot air, advanced timing, fuel regulator (doubt it increases performance), good tyres. Both time were on the 17" alloys

Good tyres make a big difference, what i found between the 2 times the clubs been to shakies

i've just got the filter on top of the engine, would i be better of with a cda filter? if so do u know any place to get one as i've searched and can only find it for the n16.

i've never seen a kn filter just got straight on to the top, just the almera's its strange!!

Yourl almost certainly be losing power with the filter located there, as its only sucking in hot air from the engine bay. IIRC Dale used to have a CDA on his Si, pop him a pm and he may be able to help you fella

Not sure where to get a CDA from, but Apexi filters are well rated here, provided that you can get some cold air to them, try to locate it towards the front of the engine bay
