Hi.
I have a 1500 N16 (my dads old car!) that is going to be stripped, and then built for light contact dirt track banger racing. (its done 160,000 so dont panic!!)
This will be by far the newest car Ive raced, and you hear of horror stories regarding the electrics when stripping newer cars - ie cut the wrong wire and the car is permanently immobalised!
So heres the question - if I unplug then remove the entire dash, is the engine still likely to run!!! (im a tall lad and prefer to remove the dash on my race cars)
Also, how much of the wiring loom am I likely to be able to strip down without effecting the ecu. In our sport, its best to strip down as much redundant wiring as possible! In the old days it was a case of ripping out ALL the wiring, then wiring up ignition, starter, dizzy, coil etc and away you go! Not so simple these days!
Any help/advice/guesses etc will be much appreciated!
As interest, I think this might be the first late shape almera ever raced in this discipline!
Thanks!
