17" wheel advice for N15

Hi there,

just joined recently and am looking for a bit of advice as i'm looking to upgrade to 17" alloys. I've got a '99 Almera GTi and am just wanting to check if i'm right in thinking that the offset is 38 and the aspect ratio is 45? Also am i right in thinking the offset is 'fixed' at 38 (ie you can't get wheels with 40 offset) but is the same true for the aspect ratio? ie i saw somewhere that the aspect ratio was 35-45?

Finally i also heard something about spigots and tuning nuts?

All pretty niave q's for you boys i'm sure but i'm new to this but am keen to replace the trolley wheels it's on at the mo. Any advice'd be appreciated, cheers Matt

I have 16'' with ET 38 on my Almera, but I have problem, when turning the wheel - max lefl or mat right - the inner part of the wheel contacts with body of the car. I have 205/45 tyres. So I would propose to choose different ET - to avoid the problem

Et 35-38 is perfectly fine. Spigot rings step down the bore size in the back of the wheel to the bore size of your hub so you dont get wheel wobble. Tuner nuts are a newer stlye of wheel nut/bolt which is very skinny and has an external/internal hex or star fitting meaning you need a special socket or tool to use them, these are supplied with the nuts. These nuts are only used on a fraction of the aftermarket wheels currently available and you will be supplied with them and the spigots in the fitting kit when you buy your wheels. (if you buy brand new)
