Hi

Wonder if anyone can help me.
I have a 2001 mera N16 and have just bought some 17" alloys, tyres 205/45/17, PCD 4x114, offset 38mm.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7986083623&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1
I could not find the wheel offset or PCD for this car, so I got this info off the following sites
Midland wheels
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/midlandwheels/FITMENT-GUIDE-M-P.html,
Rochford tyres
http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/Fitment.asp?psearch=Nissan
These alloy wheel sites, plus numerous others, give an offset of 35 to 42, so I thought these wheels would be fine.
However when I fitted them they seem to stick out to far from the body at the front (about 5 to 10mm) and are almost flush at the back.
So I have now scoured the owners manual (which I should have done earlier)from top to bottom and finally found a page 9-6, stating the offset as being 45mm which does not tie up with any of the sizes (35 to 42mm) I have found on the net.
Could someone clarify the offset for a 2001 mera and also if these wheels would be ok with an offset of 38mm, or would this damage the bearings or anything else.

Cheers

Carl

most people here have an offest between 35-40, anywhere in that region should be fine :D
