2.2di n16 hatch Low Power

Hello. I jus bought used n16 hatchback with 2.2 di engine. Car dowsnt look to be neglected, brakes are superb, interrior and drivetrain aswell. But the engine is rubish. Im studying in mechanics school, so got my car in school other day to check. Pluged BOSH diagnostics. Car hasnt got a single fault. Thought it might be timing chain. We took out the engine, put the chain on marks, resealed everything and put back together. Changed oil, fuel filter because it was leaking, thought it might cause the problem by fuel being sucked with air. car got new coolant aswell. But i still having same issue that car doesnt have any power below 1800-2000 rpm and it doesnt want to start cold (around 0 celcius usually). The airr filter is clean, all spark plugs working fine. car dont produce any smokes aslong as you wont put your foot down while starting the engine. Didnt check EGR, neither intake maniforld for now. Perhaps its common problem and anyone knows what might got into the car? I watched on youtube how theese cars accelerate and its nothing like mine. It sometimes is verry dangerous as need to jump in traffic and car barelly moves. Even golf mk2 1,6td 51kw goes better.

The gearbox earth strap may need replacing. Many members on here have done that before and the performance improvement was massive.

I changed a broken gearbox earth strap and clean the maf with carb cleaner which made a huge difference on my old di.
Having cold starting issues is odd, as these engine are designed to start well even without glowplugs.....although saying that mine did. I traced it down to an air leak into the diesel primer bulb / hand pump.

Worse case it could be a fuel pump problem.

i replaced the cable already because it snapped while we were takin engine out.
maf stands for? not sure if mine has air leak because i get a bottle of clean diesel and put both return and intake hoses into bottle bypassing filter and all fuel lines. Same issues. i hear that VAG cars sometimes has starter motor issues as it wont turn fast enough to start, can it be the case? As from sound it turns quite fast tho.

ok so today it jus got worse. Now im slowing down if im in 3rd gear. In all rev range there is no power at all. Thinking it might just be worst case - fuel pump

Suction control valve (also seen it called "fuel pressure regulator" but that's not its proper name). I've just had mine fail on me and it's a common fault with the fuel pumps for our engine. It's a 15 minute swap and costs less than £100 for the part (inc VAT). just an o-ring and 2 screws to change.

Sometimes you can get a p0089 error code but not always (mine didn't)

But does the Di have a SCV and if it did, as the fuel pump is different on the Di (Bosch fuel system), would it suffer the same problem as on the Denso DCi?

checked injectors, oppening at 220 bars and spraying beautifull mist. Going to check for scv, could you describe where could it be? on the pump itself? And yes mine is BOSH system.
