2001 almera 1.5 timing chain

hi all, ive jus bought a 2001 almera elegance 1.5 with 40k on the clock half leather and electric everything for £400!!!! as a run around, i bought it cheap as the engine managment light is on! my mate is a mechanic and it is coming up on diagnostic check as crankshaft sensor, replaced that still on!!!! where is the best place to buy a timing chain as he thinks it mite be that!!! also any ideas on what could be wrong with it would be appreciated! cheers michael.
 
welcome to the forum and looks like you got a bargain. posting up the error code would help. I heard that the ph1 had problems with crank sensor according to parkers.

cant remember the code it just said crankshaft sensor, yea it mite of been a bargain but its turning out to be a nightmare, only bought it as a run around coz i dont want to use my dc2 every day!! cheers
