as to why the rears dont go low enough,

gen 1 mount compared with new gen 2

theres the extra inch

So theoretically if you had the gen 2's which are too high.. You could slice half an inch off the bottom mount and re thread, and they'd be perfect :)

no still wouldnt the thread goes into the bit at the top, wont go into where it narrows.

yeh that test mount i got is just like those gen 1 mounts then, but i tried gettin another and gary was useless as usual.

so i'm tryin some of the BC ones which measure the same diameter to see if they happen to be the same thread. If not i'll get an engineering place to make up a copy of the test mount i got from daiyama.

Ahhhh shit yeah I didn't notice that little collar thing..
Surely you could cut thread further inside that though.. Probably be tight!

theres no way round it like, you can see the bit 'in the middle' where its been made longer, but just too long

I have a spare set of gen 2 bottom mounts, and he stated he didnt want it stupid low. so if he doesnt want them then so forth

plus even with the gen 2 mounts the gen1 will still go a bit lower than the 2s cos the top mount being different won't they? or was it for the dpx thingy
