getting bucket seats for my mera just wondering if you can fit a 3 point harness system and not have to get rid of the rear seatbelts? someone told me(might have been a 5 point harness though) that you hve to use the rear seatbelts when mounting the harness so they become useless? any truth to this?

cheers :D

Wouldn't have thought so

Most logical way I can see of fitting them is to use the mounting bolts for the centre belt and clips in the back and just run them slightly outward to the front seat - that way you can still use the rear seats (although the middle one might be a bit difficult to get in and out of) :)

I had a set in mine mate, used the mounting where the rear seat belts clip into, these made the rear seats unaccessable, because harnesses work like old seats belts where you manually adjust them to fit you, this means once they're adjusted up, the front seats wont flip or slide forward, as the harnesses are to tight, so to get into the back you had to lossen them right up, and then no one could sit in the rear apart from in the middle, even then they had to climb over the harnesses(as they would be sitting with the belt coming from between there legs, even a bit of a dirty bird up for a bit odd pain with her pleasure wouldnt like that)
and, if you got an install in your boot and you use your rear seats to stick the shopping/or whatever you've bought while you where out, some clothes for example, you cant get them on the rear seats unless you adjust the harnesses, and then while you're wearing them you cant fiddle with the radio, lean forward to see round blind junctions, go in the glove box for another cd/sunglasses, in the end this is why i took mine out
but you can get them that work like a normal seatbelt, that slide out and lock when needed to, this would let you flip or slide the seat forward, but no one in the back still

A'right

I had initially put my rear point into the hole where the old seat belt would pull out from (just above your shoulder) but the harnesses didn't sit great cause they were getting pulled to the side, But live steve say's the only place you can use is the plate where the rear clippy iny bit is!

I've got buckets in mine and i find it ok for changing cd and looking at junctions etc but then your sitting upright totally and not laying back, But the olny down side to these is that if you are 6foot + your head will be hitting the roof! (i don't know how i will get round knockhill now cause i don't think i could wear a helmet! LOL)
