60mm drop, 17's, what offset and profile

as above, getting the car on friday afternoon hopefully, she is on 15's with a 40mm drop, looking to drop it 60mm and hopefully put a set of 17's on her but i want to make sure the tyres are inside the arches on the rears and dont rub on the front

what profile and what offset? i dont want to have the wheels tucked under as if i have a wide arch kit on but i dont want to have them rubbing on the arch lip

A search would tell you that the offsets something like 35-42 and the pcd is 4 x 100.

Also 60mm drop doesn't exist on springs alone, or at least i should say ive never come across any. Its 35mm max iirc and lower requires coilovers.

I know that 17's with a 30mm drop is fine, no arch problems, maybe a tiny bit on full lock but tyre profile might affect this.

And as regards to profile, well its entirely up to you.

If i'm being totally honest, i had 17" rims and 35mm drop and the ride was ok but having now owned 15" wheels with slightly lower profile tyres, the acceleration, ride comfort and even handling to some extent feels far greater. Light weight over looks any day.

yes, i know that the offset is between 35 and 42 and the pcd is 100 but reason i asked 'what offset' is because i wanted to know what the best for a set of 17's is, as i dont want the rims being too under the arches if the offset is too little and i dont want them to rub if the offset s too great

Sunny ZX shocks and -30mm springs will see you sitting a over 60mm lower on the front, don't know how he's planning on doing the back though. Never seen a proper spring set over -40mm for the N15.

Or n15 phase 1 shocks with phase 2 lowering springs.....

The rear is impossible to lower more than 2", as it only has that much travel to start with.

Put sunny ZX shocks and -45mm jamex springs to match in the front of a mate's P2 SRi for a couple days. His bumper hit anything and everyhting and we had 17" tyres tucked up in the arches on the front.

Strangely he soon got bored of that setup. Couldn't understand why :)

I think P1 shocks with P2 springs up front is a distaster waiting to happen, I did it on my first almera not knowing they were P2 springs. I didnt need spring clamps to put the top mounts on the shock and the car used to hop all over the road

Need to cut two "nipples" from the bump stoper (?) then the car won't lie on them and have ~1,5cm spring travel left ... so it won't be bouncy, scary and very dangerous.
(bump in a fast corner and your car will hop and move to the corner outside very quickly)

an offest of 35mm on a 7x17 wheel is ok, but I had a offset of 35mm on a 8x18 wheels and they filled the arches so much they needed work to make them fit(offset is also affected by wheel width)

This`ll put alot of extra strain on the damper and wear it out quicker though.

sure, but on the other side your damper can travel a bit and you ride is much more comftable and safer then without shorten the bump stopper.
with the cutted stoppers, the car will lower the 60mm and not just 40mm because it is sitting on the stoppers with zero damper travel.

Lowering above 40mm needs short "sport"dampers with cutted stoppers. If you don't want this problem go and buy coilovers like my Intrax suspension, lowtec, TEIN or something like that.
