98 GTi Rear Caliper Bolts

Hi all,

apologies to the admins - this is not where it should be but the right place is private (even though I'm a member...)

Right, so I'm changing the rear discs and pads on my P2 98 GTi and want to get some bolts to replace the old ones, as I can see myself having to batter them out (we all know how the "rust factor" makes any simple job a bitch to do).

Does anyone know how many bolts there are for each corner and what the nissan part nos are...?

Thanks,

Mike

There are 8 bolts, 4 each side pal. soak them in rust penetration spray a couple of weeks before you replace them, they should come out ok. if not i have a pair of calipers and all the bolts spare, let me know how you get on pal, they should be ok tho.

Cheers for that - I might be asking for those bolts off you... we'll see.

Nissan said there were 4 of one type and two of another for the two wheels, how are the eight that you mean arranged? With the front caliper there is one top and one bottom slider bolt, are the rears like two top and two down...?

Mike

if your having a bugger getting the bolts of i got this stuff call loctite freeze and release. its the best stuff in the world and its only like 2.99 from halfords i used it fro my brakes tool me 3 hours to do the one side then 10 mins for the other guess which side didn't have the freeze and release.
