a few 'nebie' questions.

hope these arent to obvious and there isnt a post on it all. :D

so first off, whats the deal with the vzr? whats the spec of them and why are the good because looking through a blog lots of comments on how there amazin. Ive discoverd the autec and the vvl ones and tried to read up a bit on the both of them but I cant see anything on the vzr apart from wiki which says its a sr16?.


apart from the inner arch which ive been warned about how do the sills cope with rust, as micras are shite for it, and nissan actually have a drain hose into the sills from the sunroof to help rustin ha. gonks!

Basically,

Almera GTi - UK N15 With SR20DE (143bhp)
Pulsar VZR - JDM N15 with SR16VE + LSD (160ish bhp)
Pulsar Autech - JDM N15 with SR20DE + LSD (high port...175bhp)
Pulsar VZR N1 - JDM N15 with SR16VE tuned by Autech + LSD(197bhp)
Pulsar GTi - JDM N15 with SR18DE and an LSD gearbox

Wezz/dans UK Silver Gti with SR20VE hybrid - 211bhp iirc ;), No LSD tho :D

The VE engines are Nissans NEO VVL which is a two stage cam switch similar to VTEC / MIVEC etc. Inlet and Exhaust change at slightly different times for maximum power and torque.

Rust wise the worst places are sills (particularly the rear of), rear seat belt mounting points (under carpet/seat and also in the boot) and arches. The GTi's sideskirts can hide any issues so try and take a good look under the car. Crossmembers etc aren't usually a problem like on the Micras or N16's.

yeh it seems good enough, only find out when I get down and under it. phoned the guy up last nite so should hopefully get down sometime soon.
yeh i seen the seatbelt mounts on a almera the other day they were big time fuked., the micra was the same had to weld both sides up. i hate rust.

steven I wudda taken your motor in a second if there was no engine swap/rebuild man, I was ready to phone you till I read that, ive just finished rebuilding my micra and i know its gay but really just want/need a car to get in an go for a bit because i dont have the time anymore. But some spec on it dude. :D good luck with the sale anyway.
 
The VZR is meant to be 175ps standard, just the equivilant of your ten a penny civic vti, only better and quicker. It would be handy if all this info was easier to find, like on the front page on the site and not within the forum
 
well boost cuz i want it. haa, ko man, aye me and my mate had that debate aswell. haa but the slipstream's are more rounder where the spokes meet in the centre, so prety sure there comps. :D either way there nice and light.
