hey :)
car looks good, am i right in saying thats a p1 with p2 headlights in it? didnt know that was possible, although i know bugger all about n16's anyway :P

either way the headlights look really good with the hid conversion

welcome to the forum :)

Welcome to the AOC Stu.

They`re standard Phase 2 N16 headlights (yours is a phase 1), & they look alot better with a P1 front bumper, than my old P2 did!

EDIT: Just found this pic of when I fitted the 17s to it!

is that bumper a straight fit?
when i took the old lights out i had 2 chop off the screw that held the side in place (so there is a very slight gap but ive pulled it out alot so its not really noticeable)

i need to get a new front bumper anyway as the previous owner cleaned it with sumthing acidic and there are paint fade and chips over it so might get that bumper.

does look nice with the front end (esp if u get the fogs aswell to match)

going to get the bump strips colour coded aswell so it blends in a bit better

As far as I know, they should be interchangeable, as I was going to put P1 bumpers on mine, as IMHO they make the front more `interesting` than the plain (dull), flat, P2, but never got round to it, as I sold the car in February.

the Phase 2 bumper should fit onto the Phase 1 without a problem. I got a Phase 2 and got a motordrome front and rear splitter which makes it look more aggressive :)

The headlight conversion looks AWSOME. I want I want! You also got the eurostyle black tail lights too?

Tell me, how do you do the P1 to p2 headlight conversion? (A few nice pictures and how to would be awsome)

I don't really like the idea of cutting the slam panel...

you need to remove the bumper and remove both the head lights and indicators you then need to use a light tester to find out what wire is what and then once you done that you need to wire the lights up. the Phase 1 plug and phase 2 plug is different so you have to find a way to connect them up. you could use forks to connect it up.

on my N16 phase 2 I have a knob that you turn to adjust the lights up and down. I am not sure if they have the same thing on the Phase 1's

download the raising bonnet guide and it will give you a brief guide how to remove the bumper its just a few clips and 2 bolts

Cheers darren, you are such an amazing help. How to remove a bumper and a description on the headlight conversion which is as clear as mud. One day, when I grow up, I want to be just like you. An expert. What a guy.

Maybe I missed something. Maybe I'm the idiot, but I thought this is the question I was asking. How do you do it?

do u want me 2 make u a "how to" guide on removal and fitting the lights? and wiring diagrams

If you are offering...that'd be great. I'm sure there's a few n16 p1 owners who would be interested in it...

There was a guy on here a while back who did it to his white P1, & iirc, when he got the wiring sorted, it all worked as it should, except for the beam adjuster, which worked in reverse!

lol then he got the positive and negative the wrong way

i didnt bother changing my adjusters, i used the old ones and they have enough travel to be aligned perfectly. :D

Removal Guide

ive done a quick removal guide for the bumper and lights,
gonna be drawing up the wiring diagram in nxt few days and will attach it so you can do it all at the same time.

hope it helps

its not that hard to take off the front bumper its written in the bonnet raising guide I never took any pictures as its not that hard.

Are you really that thick?

I meant the wiring for the headlights.
