Hi for the last week my air bag light has been on. I initially thought it was my fault after hoovering the car out and may have touched the wires under the seats. When I checked them I found on the two wire connectors, they had been cut off and Soldered and taped up. I was horrified but when I spoke to my parts manager friend, I was told it was quite normal as several nissans including k12 micra's and navara's have the same problem and it was acceptable to do this. Nissan do supply a lot for its over £100 plus fitting.
Anyways the soldering had been done quite well with heat shrink used so I usedy mates code reader and it came back with A/B assist open circuit But using the flashing light
Method, it came back with one long flash and 8 short ones. This indicated to be the drivers seat belt pre tensioner. Anyways my from the dealer called me back and suggested to check the passenger air bag sensor above the glove box so I did. I the. Found the inspection panel was hanging done and the connector was bouncing around. So I fixed it back up and used the reset procedure and guess what! No more air bag light!!! Fingers crossed it stays off
