Air Con onto a 1.4

Can anyone confirm that all the air con parts from a GTi will fit straight onto a 1.4 providing it has the extra pully on the crank pulley i believe.

And exactly what parts will be needed in total?

Thanks, Paul

quote from the link..
the smell is caused by fungus, bacteria and other microbes growing inside the evaporator core. The moisture-laden environment is very conducive to the growth of these organisms

are you sure you want air con?! lol

one thing in particular i mean is, the bracket the compressor is bolted to, does it fit onto the GA engines too?

No it won't. There are GA's with air-con though. The mounting is completely different and it has an extra idler pulley on the illustrations.

I think for what it is, its a heck of a lot of hassle. SRi's have air con, dunno about other models though..
Ive never got my head round this air con business. To me, normal heaters are almost as good and you can always wind your windows down if its too hot like.

ive never been in a situation in my car where i thought "man, i wish i had air con".
I suppose if youre stuck in traffic on a really hot day it would be useful...

To be fair though, i know nowt about air con, so just ignore me! sorry for the useless rambling..

its for my mate, hes registered on here but think hes scared to post haha.

what i found last summer was puttin the heaters on cold and fan 4 was a lot cooler than opening the windows.

Thanks for your help everyone

When my windows didn't work a few weeks ago, the cool blowers were more than enough, although it may be alot different in the peak summer. (my air con desn't work either)

My van ain't got air con, and that was fine all last year.

Air con is shite, dries my eyes out and its just more to go wrong. Tell him to crack a seal (open a window) if he's got a sweat on.
