Airbag maintenence

Hey guys

For all you phase 1 n15 guys out there (and possibly phase 2's) I have a question. Im sure you have a message on your drivers side sun visor saying that the airbag system should be checked if the airbag light remains on or 10 years after first vehicle registration. It goes on to say that this needs to be done by an authorised Nissan technican. Have any of you guys had this done and if so how much did Nissan charge you? I was considering just disabling the airbag if they are looking big money just to inspect it.
 
Don`t bother unless the light comes on.

Just think how many other components probably need checking/replacing after 10yrs of driving....seat belt etc.
 
seat belts have me confused they are made from essentially the same stuff as harnesses used for climbing etc etc, but seatbelts are subject to more regular use - now harnesses made from webbing have life spans of 3-4years!! why not seatbelts lol
 
It's b****cks mate dont worry about. I work in a garage and no-one has ever been in or even heard of anyone getting an airbag checked on anything.

need mine checking, the air bag light just started flashing one day, hope its not an MOT failure
