Alarm Sensor Placement

Found one today under the dash behind the glove box,
Its a shock sensor, flick it and the alarm goes off,
Basically I found it clipped to another wire, which moved fairly loosely.
Would it be a better idea to fix it to the frame of the car?? something solid?

Anyone have any thoughts?

Might be a tilt sensor, for when people try to jack you up/tow the car. A factory alarm on a fairly cheap carwont have an impact sensor as they are quite expensive.
