There is 1 wire that runs up into the hatch with the hatch loom that is unused. If you look at the junction that goes up into the pillar near the passenger side speaker, there's 1 wire in the hatch side of the loom that is there, but is blank in the body side of the loom, Simply splice from the existing parker light wire to that one and find that one up in the hatch loom and you're set.

Could someone please explain this a little better to me please? Or has anyone tried it yet?

basically there is a wire coming from the hatch/tailgate that is un-used - this routes through the tailgate and down the pillar "as normal wiring does".

this if into a plug with a black on it (so not being used either.

simply cut it from the connecter splice/solder from your existing brake light. then inside the tailgate cut the end off as you jsut did the other side and again splice/solder onto that to your inner brake light!

bascally saying rather than having to fiddle running your own length of wire through there is an abandoned one already there for you to be able to utilise

:)

its just as simple splicing them into the number plate light wires, they are pink and white i think, then they are on with the lights

Cheers Mongo ;)

Eddie I just like things to be done properly, don't want to bodge them into a switch which isn't meant for them. I'm just a bit anal like that lol

when i first put mine on the inners would only work when i pushed the fog light button, but i couldnt be arsed to turn it on every time i put the lights on, thats why i spliced into the number plate lights so i didnt have to do that, plus if i can be bothered i'm gunna fit a foglight in the bumper

Cheers Mongo ;)

I didnt bodge anything, I put the light in accidently put fog one once.. oo 4part JDM illumination. Didn't have to do anything they just worked out of the box lol

but then thats side lights there on with rather than brake aint it?

im on the understanding by the fact that your splicing into the rear brake light that they are wanting the inners to be brake lights!

splicing to the number plate light will be the sidelights and dipped beam

Sorry bodge maybe was the wrong word, i just meant that if i want the inner rears to light up when the lights go on i want them to do it just as normal not with having to put the fogs on too;)

yeah quicky I think most people want them as lights rather than brake lights.

Which does bring me nicely to another question how would you do it for them to be both?

Would you require a double filament bulb, and associated wiring?

yes - you would require a double filliment bulb and also a double connection!

old wiring loom and splie then end of and use it that way

So you can use the spare wire for the brakes and then the number plate lights for the lights. I could just take the wiring straight off the old outers.
