Almera 1996/7 Ignition and door lock

I have a 5 door Almera Action 1996/7. The ignition switch and drivers door lock are well worn, as well as the key, but the key opens/starts after a little fiddling. I have just lost the key with transponder and I think I will take the opportunity to fit a newish used ignition/door locks - they pop up on ebay every now and then for about £50ish.

I coud pay £130 for new key/responder but the locks are on their way out so I may as well replace the ignition and drivers side locks (for less money with luck). If I bought an ignition and door lock off ebay or a breaker's yard would I be able to easily remove the existing ignition key lock from the steering column and replaced with another? Is the air bag easily removed/disabled. Are there shear bolts on the ignition switch?

Thank you for any advice - Andrew (stuck without his car)

door locks fairly easy, ignition barrel not so much it would be easier to swap the whole steering column IMO pal

Ignition is easy, just drill out the studs and replace with torx security bits. Normally they start to wind themselves out anyway.

Thanks you for comments.
From what you both say I think I will replace both ignition and door locks as they are both excessively worn. A new key will only postpone the inevitable short term.
Again many thank
