hello to everyone, i currently own a micra k11 but its time to change and get a bigger car for when my baby arrives in january so its going to be a 5 door, im torn between 2 almeras at the moment and before i buy i want to find out some figures and problems so i dont end up buying a dud almera,

so im asking if any forum members would take the time to come up with a checklist of what i should look out for when buying that are prone to the vehicle ie rust,engine problems, mpg perfomance etc

the 2 cars im after information are

2001 almera 1.5s or similar models ie se

2001 almera 1.8 sport plus(mpg on driving styles required, motorway,city,harsh acceleration)

thanks to everyone who would be able to spare the time and help out a new almera owner to be

hoping to buy in next week or so and soon as i own the car i shall be buying full membership to share my new car

just for future reference im 23 and living in belfast
 
I usualy go to autotraider and input models there then compare 2 of them.
I got SE 1.8 in city my MPG is around 24 on motorway around 34 very quite and has allot of power, although im not very happy with MPG as on autotraider i shuld get 32 in city and over 40 on motorway, again style of driving ;)
 
well il be alot more careful in the new car as will have baby in the car :P autotrader lies to me lol i like to know real life figures for people who drive them :) im viewing the 2 cars im interested in on monday so hoping to get a list of what i should look for when im looking around and underneath the body or engine noises :rolleyes:
 
sorry buddy first time on this forum so im searching everywhere to find where i should and shouldnt be looking, and thank you for welcome and link i shall have a look :) also how much would i be looking to pay for 2001 1.8sport plus with 100k, fullish mot and no tax? the guy who is selling the car is asking £800

hmm monday could be the day il be taking it home then providing i can tax it same day, thanks for the link great help its gave me idea what i should be looking for when i view it, currently printing it off now to take with me

Yeah i think 800 is good price, my mistake i didnt check that on V5 previus owner was disabled now got to go tomorrow to dvla to sort it out and 2 electric windows dont work only from drivers side do.

I also got baby and a kid so no rush on the roads ;)
