Alternator Whine Help Please

Right like the tital says i have an alternator whine coming through my speakers i've earthed everything and tried running cables straight from the battery but its still there!!! I know the interference is not caused by the amps or rca's because i've unplugged them at the radio end and the noise goes. Any idea's of what i can do to solve this please?

The radio was earthed the same as a standard unit but now tried running from the battery and bolting wires down to chassis and even unplugging ariel to give it just 1 earth etc. The radio has been sent away to be checked for faults and came back being ok.

Also i've tried every supressor i can think of including rca, back of headunit, alternator etc and still no better if not worse.

Any help or idea's would be much appreciated thanks

Share that fix with me will you Paul. I have got the same problem with the TV's i have in mine.

I have tried all the suppressors that you have mentioned and i still can't get rid of it :wall:

It's soooo annoying :mad2:

All you do is screw an wire to the radio body. i bolted mine to the back then the other side you split one rca at the back of the head unit slide the wire in and shut it so it holds the wire to the outside part of the rca. Do not let it touch the centre part and make sure the radio is off when doing it. After this just turn it on and try it and it should all be sorted ;)

This only needs to be done to one rca and its cures all noise.

I've still got another noise which i've traced back to the fuel pump interfering so gona reroute my rca's tommorrow to fix that one

so you earthed the Rca's, most decent RCA's have a wire on already for that reason, or they come foil wrapped inside which stops it to.

Yes mate to the back of the radio but still interfering with the fuel pump. they are autoleads rca's the purple coloured ones if you know which ones i mean mate. Can you recommend any half decent ones just incase cos i think one of my sets are damaged

Well i have spent the last 1.5hrs messing around with all the wires behind my radio and still have the same annoying noise coming from the altrenator :wall:

I tried earthing the rca leads and have even tried the yellow (video) lead and i'm still no further forward :mad2:

Think i will just give this up as a bad idea :(

mine has a whine aswell, think its a fact of almera's moan when too much power is required
