Aluminium Bumper /under Guard

been thinkin about this lately as the car is quite low and to save the front bumper from getting wrecked

bumper guard

obvioisly i would get one custom made for the car,and maybe get it powdercoated black, but what do ya think, ??

look crap or not?

If you were to get one, It'd be good if you removed the front air dam from the splitter, but I wouldnt say powdercoat it because it will get scratched anyway? unless you do just the top half?

the front air dam has been removed, just thought black would look better than bare alloy

How about anodising it? The colour penetrates a little way into the metal, so if it does get scratched it might still hold it's original colour. Just a thought :)

im probably talkin shit here but these bolt to the front crossmember dont they? id be careful, if you hit a curb or owt with it youd run a risk of damagin the cross member..... at least a bumper flexes a bit..... gotta be careful with your mera runnin so low andrew....

ask kurt, he'd be intrested in a full underbody guard lol

:lol2: Too right!

Dunno how you'd work it around the Ph2 bumper, they suit GTi-R's mainly cos there protecting a FMIC+piping.

thought they were there on GTiRs as sump guards mainly.

personally i think its a good idea for the lower cars but its going to be finding the balance to make it look good.

dont think it would help much with the phase 2 skirt as it hangs lower either side than a 'sump' guard would normally

been thinking about getting one made for my car for when the turbo engine goes in, got a mate whos a fabricator

looks daft imo but has a very good function. I've got a bloody great steel thing for the sump of the 205, which with the Mi16 engine's alloy sump it'll need now. might sell it chepa and get an ally one instead. this thing's stupid heavy.

Im a draughtsman at a fabricators, so thats where i was planning getting one made up :)

but i wouldnt have it coming all the way up the fron t of the bumper like the pulsar one, maybe about 1 cm if that or just fasten it to the bottomof the bumper
