Im' not sure on the exact where-about the canister is but it should be a cylindrical black canister, either attached to the rear of the bulkhead or it's to the right lower engine bay with some vacuum pipes going to it.

Also it will be the purge/egr valve solenoid that may need renewing.

yep! certainly is!

Edit---this is where you will get a price for one, at "nissan".... don't be surprised at the price they give for new one either.
I went to nissan to buy one for my gt prim and they came at me with price of £128.

cheers pal your a star i've been pricing them up and i saw 1 on euro parts for about that price i might get 1 from scrappy for now. will that clear that code and take engine management light off??

Fixing will make the MIL go out but i don't think it will clear the fault code by itself, you have to either clear it or have someone do it..

Your going have to take thing's apart i'm afraid, just sticking a second hand on, may or may not clear your fault code.

You would be better off cleaning the throttle body out and egr valve etc etc. as 9/10 it's failed due to carbon build up.

Also check all your vacuum pipes too for crack's etc leading up to the solenoid and canister and to your throttle body and infact i would do those first as the solenoid may not be at fault?
