does anyone know were is the best point to take the amp power cable through the bulk head?

There should be a Grommet near the right hand side of the car just rip the black tape off thread it through and black tape it again

the girlfriend was on about getting me a sub and amp but i didnt know where to find a gormmet so lost interest in it.

also i like being able to use my boot and not have it full of sub boxes.

on this note what would people suggest just for a nice bit of bass without robbing my whole boot.

just where the passenger footwell carpet stops, in the middle, there is a grommet about the size of a 50p, screw driver that and feed it on the power cable. run the cable through and push the grommet back in place

You can get under-seat subs. dont thing they're as good as normal ones but if you need the space...

I would take it though the grommet near the passenger side. take all the tape off and then put the power cable though and then tape it back up again don't want water leaking in now or a short in the cable.

yeah they are not bad for what they are if you want to save space. but if you want good bass you need to loose the space

Do you own an N15? No. So therefore you have no idea what I am talking about.

What tape are you on about? The gromet is made of rubber. When you force the cable through a small hole made in the gromet, this actually seals it. Incredible, I know.
How can you short an insulated cable just by water touching it? Unless there was a cut in the cable then you cant.

And finally, you would take it through the gromet in the passenger side? Funny, so would I. And thats what I fucking wrote.

you said screw driver that did you mean remove the grommet or just put a hole in it ?

anyway forget it

You don't get this problem if you stick with OE equipment, which is perfect quality unless your planning a trip to Max Power live.

I got a active sub (amp and sub in one unit) - when I need the space back for transporting stuff it just takes a couple of minutes to disconnect the battery, detatch the cables (and tape them up with insulating tape to prevent shorts, of course) and reconnect the battery.

I got the 12" Fli Trap (click the link in my sig for more info). The 10" version is smaller and lighter but still pretty good and probably all you need if you have OEM speakers.

Well worth it for the vastly improved sound, really miss it when I do have to cart stuff about in the boot.
