an annoying rattle

i have an annoying rattle from the front passenger side near the glovebox area....

any idea where to start, i've looked under the glove box area n poked about. but i cant feel anything that feels loose and what not.
 
I had a problem like this with my gti, turned out to be a nut that had come off a stud that secures the dash to the bodywork of the car down low on the left of the dash near the glove box. Worth a look.
 
could be anything- mine started doing it this week and it was the lil plastic indentation on the inside of the door- the bit you pull the door closed with

How long is a piece of string mate. Mine is bolted together better than factory as ive had most of the dash apart to fit audio and the alarm but the thing still rattles like a bitch. Learn to live with Almera rattles. They all do it.
 
hmmm ok. was just puzzling me though because i've got my gf to feel up the thing while driving and she cant feel anything vibrating.

You can get banned for upto a year if you get caught doing that while driving.

2 places I found rattles in that area mate. 1 is the glove box itself not actually closing fully snug so it rattles a bit.

2 is the tray on the dash right next to the windscreen (passenger side) mine rattled like fuck till I found it a bit loose. Just stuck it back down with some double sided tape. Don't glue it in case its need removing in future!
 
now i've sorted it please dont all laugh at once.

while going round a bend at a steady 30mph i heard a rattling again and saw somthing that is completly obvious now out the corner of my eye....

was the fucking airfreshner hitting the rear view mirror, it was 1 of them cardboard things from morrisons, only slightly moved but was noisey

feel a rite bint now...

and i again have a quiet car.

btw how do you remove that passenger side dash tray?

It does pop out...I think!! but be very careful not to chip the sides etc lol
