Another alarm problem.

Right, went round to a mates tonight, came out to my car to go home and the key fob wouldnt unlock the doors. Now, it has done this once or twice in the past and my solution was to go home and get the master, use that to unlock it then the proper fob would usually start working.

Got the master and it still wouldn't unlock. I can unlock the car with the key and start it, but with the alarm blaring so cant really drive it. So now my car is sat at my mates and I have no way of getting to work. Nice.

Is it the same problem as the other alarm thread or not? And would fitting an after market alarm sort it (seeing as the immobiliser is still working). Only other thing would be to get an auto-electrician round tomorrow to have a look.

Anyone!

does the alarm go off when you start the engine? mine does this somtimes but im scared to open it incase the alarm dont go off? i just take the battery out the fob put it back in then keep pressing the buttons fast till the red light comes on then i press the red button and the car opens dont know if you tryed that but works for me

Ive tried the re-coding trick, doesnt work. Yes the alarm goes off when the engine is running.

Try changing the batteries in the fob or............

Press the RED and BLUE buttons until the keyfob LED stops flashing.....release, and the LED should stay on, then......press the RED button for 1 second. This re-syncs the fob.

If this dont work the actual car battery may be low and causing probs.
