Another Gearbox Question

Recently it has sometimes become difficult to select first gear in my GTi. This only happens intermitantly and mainly when the car is warm. It done it tonight but will probably be fine in the morning and not do it again for another week or so.

There is no crunching just a lot of resistance when try to get into 1st gear. All other gears seem fine.

Would a gearbox oil change help? or anyone got any other ideas what could cause this, maybe linkage or something?

Car is a Phase I GTi with 66k on clock.
 
ive got the same in my SRi when down shifting in to 2nd and 1st.. could just be that im not used to the gear box but it does feel stiff when putting it in to gear
 
will ask a mate off mine who works in a gearbox refurb place tomo for ya but change oil an see if their is any metal on the magnet. try using auto gearbox oil as well much smoother change i use in all mine
