Hello all,
I'm Gaz, had my Almera for about 4 years now. It's an 05 plate, N16 1.5 SE.
I've got a bit of an annoying sound coming from my car at the moment, (no it isn't the gocompare guy hiding under the dash, I already checked that one).
I've searched the forums but really I need an opinion on what it might be, I've recorded it and put it on youtube.
(Sorry for the grotty interior!)
In the video, whenever my revs are at 1400 or 1700 it makes this buzzing/grating type noise. Best way I can describe it is if you put an electric toothbrush inside a plastic cup! Trouble is, since filming that it now does it at 1500 only. It does it when stationary and (I think, unless I'm imagining it) when moving, although when I'm moving it tends to be all the time, but not as pronounced.
It does it regardless of where the clutch pedal is too. It doesn't sound like it changes when the revs increase/decrease, I've checked for things in the glove box just in case but no improvement.
Once it's warmed up it doesn't really do it anymore, so I was starting to think it was engine or gearbox related?
Cheers
