Another Newbie...

Hi All,

I'm Saboywp and have recently bought a Red N16 Sport.

It took a bit of getting used to but I'm enjoying the car alot. A friend and I gave it a bit of a service yesterday and everything looked ok. I'm not completely clueless when it comes to cars cause I owned a MK2 Escort for 5 years and let's just say my driving style allowed me to learn alot in those years.

Now for the tricky bit, where would I find the Fuel Filter, is it in-tank and is it advisable to change on your own? and the also where is the Pollen Filter situated?

I'm not sure if this is normal but when driving not always but sometimes I'll take it up to 5500rpms and when changing to the next gear, I'll select release the clutch and expect the car to continue but the revs climb but it feels like a loose power then it comes back and does this again....

Has anybody felt that and if so what's the prob and is it fixable?

Thanks guys and girls and great site.

Welcome, get some pics up.
Get yourself a haynes manual, save yourself a lot of time and money. Sounds Like your clutch is slipping to me? Mine did the same a while back, had to be replaced.

Another newbie now with Pics

Hi Thanks for the reply.

It really doesn't seem like a clutch slipping cause I've felt that before but I will have it checked out by a Mechanic.

Here's a few pics of my ride:

Welcome to the club :)

I think the pollen filter is behind the glovebox.
