anybody got a pic of...

powerflow 4" jap slash backbox? getting one fitted on saturday but dont know if its gonna look to big  was gonna get a janspeed but i think there to small!

heres a couple more....

Just keep it the same size as the pipework..

Says him with a 3" tip, but that's the external size, it's resonated so the ID is the same as the pipework ;)

mines 3.5", looks good imo but given the choice i think 3" would possibly suit it even better, few people have said 3.5" looks too big and some say it looks good, nobody has ever said a larger one would look better though

out of interest, is there any performance gain from doing this? as in would 2.5" piping with a 4" tip perform any differently to 2.5" piping with a 2.5" ID tip? im guessing not but exhausts seem to be affected alot by fairly minor things, like with the 2.25"/2.5" down pipe etc, would it keep the gas speed up and create a scavenging affect by keeping the speed up and needing to "fill" the gap left, therefore speeding up the rest of the systems flow or does it have a negligable affect on it all?

no gain, you need bigger pipes further back, as there the ones chokeing the air flow. i think :P

im thinking 2.5" cat back though, would the tip actually make a difference, inside the back box is going to be quite a large area were the gas is largely free to move around, so surely a smaller tip would basically suck the air out of the backbox? not sure if this is going to make sense to anybody, might be the cider

sorry m8, didnt read the above properly, i believe there is some gain however its worth gettin a full system done.
i dont think a smaller tip would do wht i think your saying, i think i would proberly choke the air flow and slow it down. kinda like a mouse and a slack butted hooker farting next to each other:P poor descri[tion

wouldnt the fact that the piping and tip are the same diameter mean it doesnt slow it down though? although the back box will slow the flow down a bit, but then if this kept it up the would it balance out.

tbh im probably talking crap, i never was much good at physics, learnt what the textbook said and got by without actually understanding much of it

like the description though, strange images in my head

fook knows m8 i just ruined my car my sanding down the bubblng arches and respraying them. however i am very happy with my new jdm grill

One theory is to use a downturn for the tip as it's supposed to draw the exhaust gasses out as air rushes past it. Dunno if it does anything at all ??

when i got my exhaust fitted, the lady said to pick a tip as sizes dont make diffrence to sound or performance, just for looks

Raspy as hell. Personally i wouldn`t go bigger than a 3.5"

i like the raspyness ill get a vid up when its done, getting the manifold, downpipe and de cat put on tomorrow because they wont touch other people's parts! so with all that on then the new centre pipe and backbox its gonna be well raspy i hope its not to loud tho! sussex gti i think that looks nice, not to big!
