anyone noticed a genuine difference with strutbraces?

fitted my back one a little while ago now and it felt no different at all, if anything the back feels more "skittish" but its certainly no better, but from reading on here thats no suprise. the front one has suprised me though, again it feels no different AT ALL, no matter how hard i throw it in to a corner, different types of corners etc, i cant feel a difference at all, it handled well anyway so i dont really care but it does feel like i wasted £40, how can these seem to work for some people and not me  my car is no different really, lowered on springs only just like most cars on here.

anyone else feel they have felt a real difference?

it seems like another case of ignore any reviews as there pointless anyway, it does make me wonder how much of the gains people feel are in there head though. i have pretty much given up on peoples opinions tbh, they never seem to be anything like what the product is like anyway, falken ZE512's havent impressed me one bit, the Pi springs arent that stiff even though people say they are (well you feel the bumps, but there comfortable on any journey etc), the only decent review i have ever had is janspeed make good quality exhausts, couldnt agree more with that one.

rant over

Nah I didnt really feel a difference either :O

The things i've felt the biggest difference with are the GTiR brakes and the flywheel, I think most of my mods individually only make a difference in my head!

I've only ever had a GTi so couldn't comment cos they come on it as standard. Could the extra weight of a GTi be a factor though?

I'm presuming you have an Si or something?

My last car was a saxo VTR (sorry :O learnt my lesson though ;) ) & I started with an upper front strut brace and notice no real difference, I then added the lower front strut brace, and I have to say with the upper & lower fitted I notice a big difference the turn in and handling were greatly improved, & it meant you could launch the car at 3000rpm and get no wheel spin!! , however I did manage to break an engine mount with all the quick starts!! but that was in my boy racer days

Yea.. i think they work together, I didn't notice a difference till i had my upper strut brace fitted on my SRi as i had the lower tie bar fiited first. If your car has been lowered i don't see the point having a rear strut brace fitted.

When i bought my GTI the prevoiys owner must have take the rear strut brace off as it did not have one in. When i got one i did feel a difference! The back end steps out now some times quite odd!

Strut braces should be last on the list with suspension upgrades. Front braces can also promote understeer.

mine feels nice and tight with it and with out i get a little understeer but not so much as its not controlable

yeah i agree. i noticed a slight change in the handling in my almera. one thing that helped wonders though was the rear anti roll bar. i have a whiteline anti roll bar (rowdy gti told me about these a while ago cheers!) made alot of difference to how the car handled. could be felt straight away! and easy to fit! worthwhile investment!

Where would you get one of there roll/sway bars. I've been looking but it only seems aussy land do them for the almera??

Also does anyone rate the tower brace of off the sentra, would you notice a difference with this on.

Sorry for the hijack, just while were on the subject.
