are all suspension struts the same?

went down to a breakers yard and picked up a rear suspension strut for my 98 almera si. the car it came off looked to be a GX model. Is there any difference in the strut as looking at it, it doesnt appear any different.

Which strut do you mean mate?

The shock absorber? Yeah on models of the same year the rear ones will be the same.

i'd wait for a definitive answer, but I THINK as long as it's the same year (or phase) as corbs says it'll be fine. I think all almera's except gti's have the same suspension.

I'd wait for a couple more opinions as i'm not 100%, but you can always try and compare the new to the old while you're there.

Your most reliable source is Nissan mate, give them a ring and ask

i believe yeah all lower than gti spec almera have the same suspension but phase specific. i think GTi dampers are slightly shorter..

cant see you having a problem with thm mate.

If its any help, my SRi 'squats' at the back with the GTi suspension on.
