Audio System Issues

I have a 2001 Almera saloon with the standard radio/cassette player. I was recently offered a 6 disc CD changer which fits into the dash and connects into the back of my existing radio.
I installed the changer but it doesn't seem to work.
It powers up and seems to run a check for discs in all 6 positions but then it just beeps softly continuously and the lights on all 6 buttons flash. When I press the source button on my radio or on my steering remote, the display on the radio says "no mag"
Is this changer kaput or does it need a code and if so how do I get the code?

Yeah mostly likely the code issue. Take it down to nissan and they'll code it up for you, but get them to check it's not the changer that's at fault first

this is gunna sound really stupid and don't mean to insult you mate but have you got the mag in the right way? i put it in the wrong way on one of my old cars before and like hell could i work out why it wouldn't work! lol.

Hi. Sorry for coming in here, but I've just joined and don't know exactly where to post. I have a 2004 1.5 petrol Almera . As this forum is about "Radio" it may be what I'm looking for. My radio works perfectly every time I get into my car but it goes dead after about 10 minutes and will not come on again. Next day same story and every day the same. Last October, 2014, I had the timing chain replaced and the radio worked perfectly until one month ago then back to its old ways. Any advice.
