EricAlmeraSRI Feb 24, 2010 #6 what is the belt at the sided of the engine right beside the alternator/auxiliary belt? Its not the timing belt.

Corbalicious Moderator Staff member Feb 24, 2010 #7 no because they have timing chains, its the pas pump I think.
EricAlmeraSRI Feb 27, 2010 #8 whar are the belts on a SRI almera anyway? are they the auxiliary belt and the alternator belt?
markbuts3 Feb 27, 2010 #10 The alt/air con belt has an idler pulley to adjust the tension If you have no air con then the alt is adjusted to alter the tension The water pump/PS belt is adjusted by moving the PS pump If you have no PS then there is an idler pulley in it's place which you adjust.
