whats people best view on making the car shiny and removing usual wear and tear paint scratches.

found some T-cut for normal paint, mines metallic so tried a lil bit under the bumper no problems decided to try the smallest part of me boot which has like a small scratch took the scratch rite out and made the finish really smooth and shiny, probably gonna t cut it all tonite

most people say use autoglym
someone in the tradei know said use ultra brite or something like that

whats peoples views, i mean it isnt cheap anymore to use good stuff,

been discussed a few times now on here. my opinion is Meguiars Nxt. Removes/hides swirls and scratches, lasts ages and leaves an awesome shine. Autoglym super resin is another forum fave. Stay away from Mer (its like PVA glue when applying and removing).

Haha I use Mer (mainly because i found a full bottle in the garage) it does leave a noticable shine afterwards and if it rains you can see it running off easily.

Smells funny though.

Meguiars 3 step polish system and cold glass.
But started using poorboys, (see sig pictures) also use jeffs. These are more a proffesional detailing prouducts.

For swirl markes I've just used Meguiars 'scratchX'

For Polishing and waxing I use Einszett 'Paint Polish' and 'Glanz Wax' For washing I use Einszett shampoo so that it doesn't strip the wax off again.

have got meguiars nxt and gold class, nxt does make a more noticeable improvement but it leaves behind marks that look like swirls in my experience, if you use nxt then gold class it doesnt do this but for a 1 step thing i would just use gold class now. previously used autoglym super resin polish and didnt like it but a few weeks ago i used srp, meguairs step 2 polish and gold class on a dark grey primera and it was very good, srp is slightly abrasive i think and the step 2 polish seems to wetten the paint so i found it left a very nice look.

have also used mer and found it to be good, much better than most people think it is. dont think its much cheaper than the meguiars stuff though so if i was you i would get the meguiars gold class, if you look in halfords i think you get the shampoo and gold class for a pound or two more than you would just for the wax

Been using some halfords ( dont laugh! ) car wash. It`s actually very good and leaves a good coat of wax on that the rain just beads off.

i use halfords stuff its good!!!! and most the stuff like turtle wax zip or whatever its called is good, the wash and wax stuff is good save's loads ov time!

could be you are using to much prouduct, you dont need much polish,

another tip is to use a spray detailer after polishing, eg meguiars speed detailer, as this will remove any missed un-removed polish ;)

i use autoglym ultra deep shine with meguiars aplicator pads, makes the polish go along way.use a diamond brite microfibre polishing cloth,as well as their glass cleaner and tyre dressing.cant recommend their products enough.

I use Turtlewax Platinum - what a shine! Smells good, too, but that's not really relevant.

Just spent 3 hours on meguiars 3 step (except i used tesco shampoo for step one) but then was back with the meguiar's deep crystal polish and then deep crystal wax, and seen as i've spent 3 hours on it I'm dragging up an old thread to validate my efforts! 13 year old paint doesnt look too bad after it. :)

looks brilliant that kelv, seen cars 2 years old looking a hell of a lot worse than that. is amazing the difference it can make, very deep shine and makes it a proper black again, black cars seem to go a dark grey if there left too long without a good polish and wax.

Wow that does look amazing Kelv. It's better on a sunny day cos then you can see other drivers squinting as they get dazzled! :P

*shits the bed*

looks sweet mate, shinyer than mine in a daylight pic. Ill bet the paint looks like water when there's failing light. Best time to take pics of a black wagon IMO.

Thanks guys, I was pleased with how she turned out, bless her. Unfortunatley it decided to rain on the night i'd done it, just as i pulled onto the motorway, but at the end of the journey i pulled up and the car dried, all the water and filth had beaded off and she was still clean!

Really impressed with Meguiar's range, you only get what you pay for i guess.

I like megs too, usually gold Class but the other day I used some NXT paste, which has a really nice finish but was a cunt to get off

this is either stage 2 polish or the gold class I cant remember but its shiny
