there's a link to a ewbsite where we get a discount. can't remember the link off by heart, but it's in the trading section at the bottom of the forum list. most powerful bulbs available there are some philips ones offering up to 80% more light, but I went for some 50% more ones as they're bound to be longer lasting.
yeah, i bought some 50% brighter and whiter lights from motorworld. made hell of a diffrence to the vision, i was well impressed the before and after going through some local lanes
come to autolec in bexhill we sell uprated bulbs and we are cheap. were behind the council building on the funny square rondabout thing next to sainsburys
bought some of these using the AOC discount. will find out later this week if they're worth the money. bogof offer on them which means I've got some spares too, handy andy pandy.
so yeah. those powerbulbs I bought aren't actually any brighter than the halfords bulbs put in the car ages ago, and the supposed 'whiter xenon lighting' is still the dingy yellow everyone loves to hate.
So where can I get proper white road legal xenon bulbs?
its like a big fat pic and mix. you can get expensive bulbs or cheap-ass ebay ones... it doesnt matter. some will be yellow, some white and some blue. the descriptions "super white" and "ice blue" are always pure crap.
its purely luck if u get piss yellow, dim white, or "if u swint hard-enough you might see some blue"... from my experiance
lol. I was sent some blue sidelight bulbs with them, which I'm not gonna use because I've just put bright white quad LED things in there which I like, plus I want white light not blue . Not interested in chavvy blue tints or whatnot, just want a brighter whiter light and not the yellow snow colour I'm getting atm .
couild be worth checking your connections are good, poor connections can cause less power to get to the bulbs making them look like someones weed in your headlights
lol. All connections are spot on deffo, as I had problems with the drivers dip light not working unless I pushed the plug hard onto the bulb and virtually reqired all the front lights in the car.
ok scratch that, they're deffo a whiter light than what was in there (non standard already it turns out) but they're not noticeably providing more lighting on the road. looks better though, but I only had my W800i to take pics with, and it's worthless posting them here.
