big brakes

yo guys,
seeing as i got my gti the other day going through some changes for the better lol,
where can i get hold of some big brakes or big calipers as i like the pattern on my discs lol,
not really into pay over a £1000 of brembo brakes not that they even list it for my car
any ideas guys cheers

Pulsar GTi-R is the logical one but they can have wheel clearance problems, with offsets etc. You could look into an adapter to push the caliper further out to accept larger discs. A direct upgrade is Mitsubishi FTO calipers and Clio 182 discs, takes ur discs up to 280mm from standard 256mm.

is big brakes really necessary... is it ever gonna see a track? like properly? cause if not your better just investing in some uprated pads. ebc or mintex

you can waste a lot of money on brakes that are unnecesary unless you running majot power and major spirited driving

Standard brakes are fine tbh unless you're running serious power. Even then as rowdy says braided hoses, 5:1 fluid and redstuff pads on the standard equipment is more than adequate.
Think more about your tyres and suspension set up.

Maybe he wants bigger brakes for the cosmetic side of things? Also, its hardly wasting money on something that could get you out of a potential accident. If you're doing 90 in the fast lane of a motorway and have to stamp on the brakes, id rather have bigger brakes than standard ones. Regardless of power, speed is still the same

i just fancy a nice set of calipers oem style i.e 200sx's have nissan stamped in the caliper,as far as i know i dont, talking about wheels clearence i got the car from bennett of the for sale page and it had 15"wheels and swop them for 16" Rota grid's,im just looking for a direct fit with no arsing about buying brackets etc
cheers

Go for the willwood 280mm set, there £400 but are the best you'll get. I doubt the 310mm set will fir under 16's.

Pulsar GTiR fronts are identical to almera GTi ones x

310 discs should fit my pal had a civic with 16" wheels and tenzo r discs etc but needed a bracket to make the calipers fit over the discs,
so i put it to you my fellow nissan lovers any links for willwood or pulsar calipers
many thanks

the mitsuibushi fto 2 pots and reneult clio is a fairly cheap upgrade, i got the calipers off ebay and running tarrox groved clio 280mm disks with "EBC" Red stuff pads, Almera gti goodridge s/steel hoses and dot 5.1 brake fluid.

im running them because of the engine upgrades i have, and havent had any problems with them.

only area i havent found out yet is if they will fit behind a almera gti 15" alloy wheel, they fill my 17" wheels nicely

i have rota 16" wheels dude,
are pulsar gti-r 2pot calipers?
i have seen some for sale are they worth getting or are they exactly the same as gti ones
