Black Alloys?

Not normally my kind of thing, but had of thought of getting my alloys painted black?

Any thoughts?
 
will get a pic up tonite for u matey, will be using my mobile tho, gota go 2 work now tho so will do after :)

Have to agree, black wheels on a red car look brilliant. I'm getting the 17's that came with my car refurbed and done black, tyres are gonna be the killer
 
depends on the wheel and the car. GTi wheels don't look good in anything other than standard silver or white imo. but then they're not a good looking wheel anyway.

Yeah Im kinda thinking the same thing tbh... But the rims on rowdys do look smart, and a few black alloys on red cars Ive seen around look spot on, but then again if they were different styles etc I might have thought they were shite..

I think the GTi wheels look best in white, I mean look at Kevls old mera and pea's black mera.. they look lovely (thinking about doing this myself) but I have seen black GTi rims, and they do look nice aswell, not too sure on red cars, only seen on blue but that made it look subtle but nice.. I might be talking out of my arse again, but just saying get the style and colour right, and (obviously) it will make a massive massive difference to the looks of the car..

I definately agree with you there, especially on a car that shiny which, incidentally, how the hell do you manage to achieve! I mean I clean and polish my car, but that is summin else! Or is it just a good clever camera! ;)

Hmmm, white you say. Now you got me thinking. Saw a picture on here the other day (can't remember where) of someones black almera with white multispokes, which I thought looked fookin awesome!

Any idea how much it costs to get done and where I could get it done?
 
Will cost around £45 a wheel depending on where you live, I got mine powder coated white (now belong to Pea_GTi) and it came to £180 i think, id go for powder coating more than painting (they shotblast the wheel then coat it in a reactant powder, then pass current through it to bond the coating to the wheel) its a lot more durable and less reactive than paint (with all the salt and stuff off the road).

They'll be able to do a range of colours including black and white.

Seriously considering getting mine done white again, or gunmetal grey, I think GTi alloys are perfect, suit the almera perfectly (and the NX ;) ) and are a good size to fill the arches when it's lowered, without affecting accelaration, and on none GTi models are still nissan wheels so they look standard.

Yes i do keep it clean and shiny, but probably only polish it 2-3 times a yr. It`s only had 1 careful previous owner to me and i`ve owned it since 2002, so its been well looked after. A good casio camera and increasing the contrast helps a bit ;)

I've got some R43 GTR style 18s on the way (from orange andy). they need a refurb but am thinking I'll give them a new paint job whle I'm at it. on the R34, the grey & bayside blue mix looks sweet as. My mera is a black 5 door, so don't think the grey would work so well. been thinking white, but not sure also. any suggestions?
