I hope he gets that price - surely its better for many of us if the value of our cars doesnt plummet further.
I don't think that really alters anything for us. That price is due to how rare a mint low mileage GTi is. Old rusty high miler Almera's are always going to go for cheap.

Never mistake a bargain for actual value.

Was actually nearly considering one, just because of how fucking comfy they are and the wonderful leg room. But they're too family sized for me mate I think. Buy a GTi replace shocks and lower is what I'll hopefully do. And maybe replace the drivers seat because the seating position sucks.

That seems VERY optomistic I paid £1750 for My 99 T reg GTi with 67k on the clock in very good condition and with a Janspeed sport cat & cat back, & that was about 3 years ago!!! reckon £1300-1600 closer to the real value and that only as it looks pretty mint, cars just don't fetch what they used to...
As if 23 days is a long time.
