Here is my black Phase 1 GTi, not posted much at all on here yet been too busy fixing my Almera!
Bought off ebay, with a blowing front pipe that turned out to be a split flexi, cracked manifold with shitty bent up gasket! So welded in new flexi, welded manifold and fitted genuine gasket.
The middle box of the stainless system was knackered so out that came and welded in standard middle box.
Next I removed the laguna splitter that had been fitted to it on a kerb :lol:
Then it stood like this:
Next the ABS light had been coming on and off, after going on a wild goose chase of repairing a damaged wire I found out it was the driver's side rear sensor. Off to the scrappy only to find a black GTi!!! Bagged the sensor for a tenner and best of all a repairable front splitter for £5 yes a bloody fiver!!!
Also replaced the rattling air bag as a previous owner had shagged the threads of the bolts when changing the wheel!!
The car also had lacquer peel on the drivers rear quarter which I've had re-sprayed along with the once tatty rear bumper.
Fitted phase 2 rear lights, phase 2 fronts with headlamp protectors.
