boost problems

hiya guys and girls can any1 help, when i floor my car its like something is holding it back but the boost gauge goes up and holds at a steady 6psi if any1 can help that would be great.
 
wow vague! Try giving us some more info with what you have, i.e sr20de+t or sr20det. Also the almera didn't come with a turbo as i'm sure your aware so you might be better off on the sr20forum or gtiroc.
 
Sounds like a fuelling problem to me. More specifically, it sounds like its running dangerously lean.

I suggest you take it very easy in your car until you find the problem.

I understand you have only recently aquired the car, Is this problem something thats only recently occured, or has it been like it since you bought it?
 
yeah im the owner of the 1.6 sri turbo from swindon the problem has just started i put myfoot down and it holds back and judders around then accelarates but it is holding boost at 7psi on the gauge as for the handbrake ha ha very funny lol
 
Youre best bet is to take it to garage where they can test and confirm what the fault is.

Sounds like a fuelling problem to me, so it could be number of things.
 
Could be a misfire under load, my gtr had a similar problem at high RPM on wide open throttle. I re-gapped the plugs and it improved. Though I cant see this just developing over night but it might be worth bearing in mind.
 
You getting any smoke out of exhaust when u nail it? my 5gtt did this, and it was running rich as fook.. are ur plugs clean or cokey?
