Brake discs 1.4

right looking for a new set of disc's for the Si , can anyone tell me if a bigger disc(in diameter) is available?

if not how would i go about getting big ones?

go for a set of almera GTI or pulsar GTIR discs and callipers etc, these will bolt directly onto your car

best bet is look in the for sale section or on GTIROC.co.uk

if you want to spend silly monet, talking well over £500 then big brake conversiuons are available

if as a budget upgrade id agree with scott, did the GTi swap on my sri, so much better Pretty cheap aswell, think i got my calipers for 40 quid!

Even if they did produce bigger discs, the pad area and position stays the same so you wouldnt gain anything. GTi discs are 256mm diameter as apposed to the smaller phase 1 232mm and phase 2 247mm 1.4/1.6 discs, also the GTi discs are about 25mm thick rather tahn 18mm so they will stay cooler longer i should imagine

friend of mine put sunny ZX discs and claipers on his SRi and it's a lot better. May be worth looking into.

thanks , so if i want to change to say GTIR brakes what parts would i need , calipers,pads ,discs....... anything else?

GTiR brakes are the same as GTi ones mate.

iirc you need the calipers, carriers, pads and discs. They should bolt up and, once bled properly, work on the standard brake master cylinder just fine
