Broken in to my Mera :(

Hey guys, yeah when i was at work yesterday sum lil S*** a proffesional by the looks of it, broke into my mera, by smashing the lock in and stole my cd player... there is now a massive whole in my drivers door, well it ent that big but hey... basically... i need to know how i can smooth the whole down and make it look like part of the car... so there isn't a key whole there.... I know that some peeps have done this to there cars, but i need to know asap...

thats bad luck mate. always take the face plate of my stereo even if its only for two mins. sure you should be able to fill the hole with bodyfiller then smooth down with wet and dry. will need to be sprayed aswel.
 
brilliant, can you suggest where i can get that from and how much it costs?

I know it was my fault... its a secure car park with CCTV, well it said it had CCTV but hasnt :(
 
not sure mate. havent done any bodywork myself yet. just looked through screwfix and loctite professional body filler is £3.78 for 280ml and £6.73 for 560ml. not sure if this is a good price or if its a good product. may be of help.

Unlucky dude. Hey look on the brighter side, you might get a better stereo now? I did when mine got pinched.
 
i think a better job would be to weld a plate to the back of the door over the hole, then filler that from the outside. thinking about it i think this will be the only way as you cant just put filer over the hole as it will fall through.
 
Yeah you'll need to spot weld a plate over the back of the hole, try and curve the plate to fit the shape of the door as well, so you can get the thinnest layer of filler in as possible. More filler means it's more likely to crack. Same for bootlids etc. :) good luck, sorry to hear about the break in!

I Thought welding a plate will be a lot better because they need to get past the plate if they were to steal it again. but if u just filler it then they would just need to knock the filler through
