Burning Smell

Ive noticed for a while now after having the car at high revs, what only can be described as a burning smell coming through the vents.

Ive opened the bonnet and had it at high revs but cant smell anything then, anyone had anything similar?, nothing seems out of place, damaged etc

my old p1 gti did this, turned out to be power steering fluid on the exhaust,only smelt after long runs or when thrashed

Mine always smells like that after a hard thrashing.

Could be oil driping on your exhaust or your clutch is slipping!!!

I do only notice it after a lil thrash, say in 3rd top of the revs for a lil longer than usual, could be oil, will have a good poke round at some point.

i find that after giving my misses a good thrashing, she smells from the vent.. but thats another story

primera had a smell to it the other day after a good thrash, first time it had been driven hard in a few weeks though and it wasnt overly strong so i didnt worry too much, the higher temperatures will burn off any crap thats around the engine, combined with the CAT etc its probably all little bits, wouldnt worry about it. seem to get a smell from the front brakes after driving hard, noticed it a few times when i had the almera as the brakes would fade on that stupidly easy, definate smell from that area only when i had had brake fade.
