C1145 Yaw rate sensor - ESP light is on

Hi guys, ok i found myself at kwik fit to have the tracking done, and i explained someone on here said if my steering wheel is slightly off centre my ESP light would be on. He said it should matter unless the sensor was fitted wrong or had been messed with.... So he plugged it in, and it came up with
C1145 Steering Yaw Rate Sensor Malfunction.
Anyone offer any insight into where it is etc?
Thanks,
Chris

I found it in the centre console, took me ages to find it in theservice.... so if there's any techypeople who know how to test it, or trouble shoot it (im too scared to go pulling plugs off the abs unit like the fsm goes into) :(

The FSM is probably the best thing to follow though I'm afraid, so be prepared to get a bit scared and crack on lol

I've had my ESP light on for a while too but it's not bothered me. Be good to know if you fix it though as that could be my issue too.

The issue was exactly what it says on the code. The Yaw rate sensor (G-Sensor) was defective.... Quoted 430 + VAT from Nissan! ..... 4 hours on a phone to all the breakers i knew, none of them had a clue what i was on about..... But found a Nissan specialist breakers in Welshpool who were very helpful and had one... 45 quid delivered. Win ..... Also my car was recalled on the passenger side air bag, so had that replaced too which got rid of my intermittent Airbag light, discs, pads, tracking done, so now im all ship shape and shiny! Just a service due in April :)
