can anyone offer advise, please

just purchased 04 2.2 dci se 136 tino

radio says "secure"

I asumed I needed a radio code, but was told to run car with audio fuse removed for an hour and radio would reset, this I did and sure enough the radio worked, but only for a few minutes and then went back to "secure" mode again

at no time did the radio ask for a code, it just seemed to freeze for a while and then go to "secure" mode

can anyone help please

Sounds like a Nissan job I'm afraid. They'll be able to sort it out for you, or was it a Nissan dealer who told you about the fuse trick?

the fuse trick came 2nd hand from a nissan dealer

seems like the 1 hour bit is exagerated a little, less time did it today

when working, the radio runs ok for a period and then mutes or freezes, it will then resume working or go to "secure" so far I cannot pin point a pattern to it's messing around. I have left the car with radio working and when I return it reads "secure" this has also happened vis-versa

I do know it is starting to put me off what seems to be a good vehicle

Hi, we've just got a 53 plate 1.8 Tino that does this from time to time... Would love to know what happened with yours desharon, (or anyone else for that matter), fixed, ongoing, etc.
We only had the "secure" thing happen the once, but the freezing happens on and off from time to time. shutting down the ignition usually resets it, but not looking forward to the motorway journey when we're left with that option...
Is there any knowledge of the cause? Any known permanent fix, temporary/cheap workaround, you know, whatever?

Bump

Oh and been thinking, if I put a push to break switch into the ingition supply to the head unit then we could 'reset' it on the fly, or would this cause more problems than it would solve?
(the more complex way to go would be a normally closed relay and a push to make switch)
