Car kit wiring problem

Where do I wire a muting wire and an ignition wire to a standard radio? I've been messing around with them but no joy.
 
Are you fitting a phone kit? Run a multi meter over some of the wires whilst getting someone to turn your ignition on and off as you test each one, this will find you an ignition source, alternitavely use a IGN live from the mini fusebox under the steering wheel.
