car lock itself when ever I shut the door

It's the actuators in the doors they get damp and play up, try taking them out drying them and soaking in WD40 might help if not then their expensive from Nissan lol

....phone....

Yup. Pain to get to as well. (back bottom corner of doors).

Sometimes a good application of the wd40 straw into the locks works for me.

Even if you get it sorted beware.. GTi's love to steal your keys!

Get out of it! door card off, window up, unclip the bars for the door handle etc, unbolt the whole locking mech, and bottom section of the window runner, pull that down and out then unbolt the mech from the actuator and remove the cable :)

Actuators are sealed units. Wd40 aint gonna help. I reckon its the ribbon cables that are at fault cause this problem doesnt happen on 5 doors

Yeah sealed in a way that appears to trap moisture inside. I opened mine up enough to get the straw inside and give them a good blast of WD, then sealed them up with waterproof tape. All other connections were sprayed with WD as well. I never had a problem after that.

I have a pair of front actutors and a control unit i bought for my old red GTi but never fitted them as i got a new trop green.
All items are used and from a 1999 model and i specificly asked if the car had the locking itself problem and was told it was all good. Pm me if you need any parts if cleaning them doesnt work.
