car stereo problems

hi there im having a problem fitting a new lg head unit with lcd and tbh any other stero going into the car where it will not pwr a stereo without the areil connected, the problem with the lg is it never turns off even when the key gets taken out.

now for those of u who think it might be the unit it has been tested in another car and works fine gps function and all any help on this situation would be great ty in advance
 
The aerial issue is because you are not getting a good earth and the stereo is earthing via the aerial lead so you may need to check your proper earth wire/plug/connector.
 
the aerial always has to be connected in nissans, or at least almera's and micra's, i've done stereos in 2 micra's and my almera and they are all the same.

as for not switching off i would go with as above

surley there should be a seperate ground for the unit tho
 
update on my problem you guys where right its now up and working my lg head unit and its gps unit is now happly in the back of my gti connected to a set of 1200w song speaker/subs with a legacy amp and it sounds evil, only gti u will find in inverness with disturbed booming from it
