Carbon Look Help

Is it something that a heat gun could be used on, to help warp it round edges?

do you mean the plate surround?

as in the indentation of the boot?

cos wrapping the number plate itself will obviously hide the reg number :P

you will find it hard if it is the surround because of the awkward shape

you might find it easier when doing it if you use a hair dryer to warm it up as then it is more plyable
best bet is to slice from the top corners, outso when it folds together were it overlaps you can get a good meet, and it be in a non viewable position

hope that helps

Wayne

edit: edk got there with the heating before me.lol

Few how-to vids on decalfx.com

Hair Dryer and water would help wrap the vinyl.
Alternatively, you could just by a CF reg holder?

Some really good advise there, cheers guys. Its the Rear Number Plate surround, you know like the whole surround like the phase 2, not the recess i.e phase 1.

That vids very good, but i doubt i'll be as quick

What i might do is this.....

Do the bit in red first, then the blue second, that way it might hide the joins better and be alot easier.

Thoughts please.

Oh and £10 for a sheet of carbon look or £100's to have the plate made up in carbon, lemme think

Sorry I was thinking more of the number plate surround with the carbon look probably around £8-£12 from Halfords

:P: back at ya lol

i would have thanked him for the video, so ner ner

i think your idea should be to get on with the turbo :P

but erm

i dunno

see im thinking your grill might look kool carbon, but the number plate im not sure on

the car itself looks sweet as it is any ways, get doing what you do best and do a photo choppety

and i shall tell thee

oooohhh breaking news on turbo side of things en ways - quicky runs off to make his own thread rather than interfeering here

Well it took 21 days for the cf vinyl to arrive  but here are my results.

I'll tell you now, its bloody difficult to do. Especially seen as this is the first time ive attempted out like this. Still need to pop and smooth some little bubbles.

Nokia phone does it some justice :D.

Just gotta get some plates made up.

That guy off ebay thats selling lots of jdm goodies. Think i outbid rob to win it. But if rob wins one in another colour i.e not silver, he can have this as its silver underneath and i'd re-carbon another one no hassle.

any reason why you have the weave direction going the opposite way in the middle part? It should all be the same? Just a thought. Good effort though.

asye the guy aint the best on response or delivery times is he..

took fooking ages for mine to come

and now i dont need it
